In The Community

At Just Compare we aim to “give something back” and never forget our local community organisations and charitable causes, always setting money aside to help and support both local and national charities accomplish their goals, helping the lives of all manner of people less fortunate; particularly children and families.

We have plans for a number of fundraising events run by our staff during 2019 and beyond and have nominated to give our support and pledge regular donations to the following charities:

Businesses that develop true Corporate Social Responsibility programmes really make a difference in communities, but ones that connect with other organisations, devoting time, energy and funds to established charities adds to their sustainability. I'm proud to work alongside Sam and his team to recommend and direct our business's effectiveness together.

fuel

Fuel for School is an exciting initiative created by The Real Junk Food Project. The programme has three key objectives: 1. Remove hunger as a barrier to learning, 2. Highlight the importance of nutrition and the associated benefits linked to learning 3. Highlight the vast amounts of wasted (yet perfectly edible) food across local and wider communities.

To further raise awareness of wasted food and the importance of healthy breakfast, Fuel for School offered to feed every primary aged child in Leeds. 10,000 children were eventually signed up to this event from schools in Leeds, Bradford, Sunderland and Doncaster. There are now plans to expand Fuel for School to as many schools as possible in the UK.

Description: YAA

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. They fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations. The generosity they receive is the life blood of the charity and without this, they would not be able to provide the service that they are so proud of.

Description: Forget Me Not Children's Hospice Logo

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice cares for families who have a child with a life shortening condition.  They support these families in many different ways to make their lives just a little bit easier.  This could be by giving them a break as they take the role of carer both in the hospice and in their home, or by providing hydrotherapy or music therapy. They do everything they can to create special moments for those families that they care for, precious time that families can spend together and moments they will remember forever. The charity is currently caring for over 150 children and families across Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.  Every day more families go to them for help.
